27 August 2026 - All Australian Para Rowers Reach the Finals

The Australian Para Rowers are doing well at the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. So far the Australians in the PR3 Mixed Double Sculls and the PR3 Mixed Coxed Four were reaching the A-finals.
Tuesday 25 August 2026, the PR3 Mixed Coxed Four were in their heat finishing third in a time of 7.55.23. With the fourth time overall, the qualified themselves for the A final who will be today at 5.40 PM local time. (1.40 am AEST- 28 August 2026). That’s the moment the focus will be high for (Cox) Hannah Cowap PLY, (b) Susannah Lutze PLY, (2) Toby Goffsassen PLY, (3) Cormac Hayes, and (s) Wallis Russell to get the best result for a medal. Coaches Caroline Pijpers and James Loveday will cheer and support them from the sidelines. The opponent in this final are France, USA, Great Britain, Italy and Germany.
In the PR3 Mixed Double Sculls, the team of Ella Marshall and Sam Stunell, coached by Christine MacLaren, drew lane 1 in the second of two heats and managed to secure a strong position early on.
With a time of 7:53.62, they achieved the second fastest time, qualifying for the A-final on Friday.
Erik Horrie PLY OAM will start today in the PR1 Men’s Single Scull. The final for PR1 Men’s Single Scull will be on Friday, 29 August.
