12 September 2026 - Melbournian Jin Woodman Wins Wheelchair Tennis Title US Open 2026!

Jin Woodman is a wheelchair Quad tennis player with potential and was this week active at the US Open Tennis tournament 2026 in New York. In the double tournament Jin was playing with Dutchman Sam Schroder and that went very well.

Starting directly in the Quarter final, Woodman/Schroder beat the Brazilians Pena and Silva in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. In the semi-final, they had to face Lapthorne from Great Britain and Els from South Africa which were winning the first set with 4-6. In the second set Woodman/Schroder came back and won with 6-3. In the last set it became a close finish but Woodman/Schroder ultimately managed to win the third set 10–8. They had reached the final.

In the Quad Double 2026 final, they faced the strong duo of Guy Sasson from Israel and Niels Vink from the Netherlands. This pair had already won the Australian Open, Roland Garros, and Wimbledon Grand Slam titles in 2026. It was already remarkable that Woodman and Schroder won the first set 6–3, only to lose the second 2–6. In the third and final set, they quickly established a lead that resulted in a 10–7 victory—and with it, the 2026 US Open title.

With his US Open quad doubles triumph, Jin Woodman becomes the first Australian since Dylan Alcott and Heath Davidson at AO 2021 to win a wheelchair Grand Slam doubles title!
