1 September 2026 - An outstanding result for Australia at the 2026 IBTA World Blind Tennis Championships in Vilnius, Lithuania.

A 15-strong Australian contingent was participating in the 2026 International Blind Tennis Association (IBTA) World Championships in Vilnius, Lithuania from 24 August to 29 August 2026.
The Australian team finished with 19 podium finishes across the singles and doubles events, equating to 23 individual athlete medals: 12 gold, nine silver and two bronze.
Australia celebrated four singles world champions:
Gold – Oliver Fanshawe, B2 Men
Gold – Michael Leigh, B3 Men
Gold – Caroline Lane, B3 Women
Gold – Grace Hobbs, B4 Women
Further singles medals were won by:
Silver – Courtney Webeck, B2 Women
Silver – Reuben Fairbank, B3 Men
Silver – Arato Katsuda-Green, B4 Men
Silver – Maddison Kelly, B4 Women
Bronze – Ethan Cook, B2 Men
Bronze – Teresa Whelan, B1 Women
Australia also achieved outstanding results in the doubles:

BLIND TENNIS IN VICTORIA
Are you interested to start with Blind tennis in Victoria-Australia? Participants can choose to play on a social basis or develop and improve their skills to play at a more elite level.
Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria and Tennis Victoria are having a Junior Blind Tennis program for children aged 5 to 15, who are blind or vision impaired.
Participants are instructed by qualified, professional coaches and all equipment is supplied. Free parking is provided for parents of participants at the venue – Melbourne Park Tennis Centre.
Both adult and junior programs are held at the National Tennis Centre (Indoor Courts), which are located within the Melbourne Park precinct, opposite AAMI Park Stadium, next to Melbourne Arena. Friday evenings are the training sessions.
Juniors: Fridays evenings from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
Adults: Friday evenings commencing at 6.30pm to 8pm.
