9 September 2026 - Australian wheelchair tennis players competing at the 2026 US Open

The final Grand Slam wheelchair tennis tournament of 2026 kicked off on Tuesday, September 8, in New York. A total of three Australian wheelchair tennis players are participating in this tournament.

Ben Wenzel from Cairns Queensland, who made his debut at the US Open in 2025, will play his first match in the Quad Singles round 1 against David Wagner from USA. With 8 Paralympic medals between 2004 and 2016, 3 times US Open winner in singles and 9 times winner in doubles, and also being a former number 1 for a long time, Wagner is a highly experienced player who will try to make things difficult for Ben Wenzel.

Australian Heath Davidson is also a wheelchair tennis player with a long background and experience in international tennis tournaments. Yesterday Davidson was together with Slade from Great Britain active in the doubles but could not win their match. In the singles round 1 Davidson will play against Sasson from Israel.

Australian Jin Woodman was also active in the doubles yesterday. Together with Dutch man Sam Schroder they were to strong against Brazilians Silva and Pena. Today Schroder and Woodman are again play a match, but this time against each other in the first round singles. 

All three Australian Wheelchair tennis players are taking part in the Quad tournament in New York.
