11 September 2026 - Tomorrow World Goalball Day!

Every year on 12 September, the global Goalball community comes together to celebrate much more than a sport. Celebrating the athletes who compete with courage and determination.

Celebrating the coaches who teach, guide and inspire. Celebrating the referees, officials, classifiers, volunteers and organisers who make every competition possible. Celebrating the clubs and National Federations that keep Goalball alive every day, from grassroots participation to the highest international level. And above all, celebrating a global community connected by the same game.

Goalball was created for athletes with visual impairment, but its impact goes far beyond the court. It creates opportunities. It builds confidence. It develops leadership. It brings people and countries together. And it continues to show the world the strength, intensity and uniqueness of the sport.

This World Goalball Day also comes at an important moment for IBSA Goalball, the World organisation. A moment of change, development and renewed ambition for the future.

Working to build stronger competitions, better education, greater visibility, more opportunities for women and young athletes, stronger national structures and a more connected international community.

You want to play or watch some Goalball? Sunday 13 September 2026 from 10.00 till 17.00 the last one-day-competition will take place in Scotch College Entry 3, 1 Morrison Street, Hawthorn-Victoria.

The Australian Championships Goalball will take place from 1 October till 4 October 2026 in RMIT University Bundoora Sports Centre, 203 Mckimmies Road Bundoora VIC 3083.
